Maverick Motorsports and the Bakersfield Kart Club (BKC) have teamed up to bring a new type of motor racing to Bakersfield. “Spec” kart racing will be added to the list of classes run by BKC. BKC races are run at Buttonwillow Raceway, a modern race facility located 28 miles Northwest of Bakersfield.

The premise of the class is equipment equality. As part of the rules, all racers must use the same “Maverick” chassis with a sealed engine. Tires and fuel are limited. With all drivers utilizing the same equipment racing is close. Races are won by driving more consistent with fewer mistakes than the competition.

“Spec” racing is one of the best values in racing. A complete race ready kart is only $1799.00
